Welcome to our leaRning community
Science Safari programs expand the world of science for our elementary and middle school students. We fill them with hands-on activities, exploration and exceptional teaching. These are kids we can easily envision one day saving the world in some way, so we stretch beyond basic learning to draw out their talents and encourage them to pursue their questions. We love the way their eyes light up as they make leaps of understanding!
Our classes are small, our students have an intense interest in learning and exploring, our projects keep them thinking, and their parents are dedicated to giving them opportunities. It's easy to pick up quality tools here in the store to keep them learning too.
As they age up into the older groups, often our kids have been in a class together for years. This makes for cohesive group learning, teamwork, brainstorming and supporting each other.

Science Classes
Preschool, K-2 and 3rd-5th Students:
Our weekly classes at the Science Safari cover a wide range of science topics and nature adventures to connect your child to the world around us. Each class has a maximum of ten students. When picking your age group, keep in mind we follow Wake County age cutoffs for grade levels. This is an environment where all the students are excited to be here and learn, so your student will be among their peers in their age group.

How to register for classes: Please see below.
Middle School Students:
These are guided lab-style classes. Each class has ten students, is 90 minutes long, and meets every Tuesday for a six week unit to explore current topics within the major areas of scientific study (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Earth Sciences). Every year, we introduce a new topic within each area so your student never repeats the same experiments. Classes incorporate Wake County educational guidelines. There is a brief presentation at the beginning of class, then we dive in to explore hands-on, using the scientific method, simple analysis tools and basic math to support our discoveries. We often end each class with a discussion to share and interpret our results. Projects that we design and build in class can be taken home afterwards.
